As a senior leader within the Supply Chain Department, this role will provide strategic leadership for a food manufacturer with several processing plants in Ontario. This position plays a critical role in assessing vendors, leading RFPs/RFQs, negotiating raw materials and components, developing long-term contracts and agreements, onboarding new vendors, and managing long-lasting partnerships.
Key Skills Required:
- Sourcing Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the North American market, with additional expertise in European and Middle Eastern markets.
- Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic is an asset.
- Position Details: Permanent, full-time, based in Toronto (on-site).
- Travel Requirements: Approximately 1 week out of every 5.

Supply Chain Trustees Inc. was mandated by its new client, a fast-growing company in the food manufacturing industry, to fill this newly created position following the reorganization of the Supply Chain Department. A regional leader in their category, our client is seeking a multicultural manager with extensive sourcing experience to support their continued growth in the US and Canadian markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Report directly to the VP of Supply Chain.
- Manage a team of 4 employees.
- Sourcing Strategy Development:
- Design and implement the organization’s global sourcing strategy.
- Drive strategic decisions such as in-house production, outsourcing, or third-party procurement to optimize costs.
- Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and onboard new vendors.
- Lead RFPs/RFQs and negotiate long-term contracts for raw materials and components.
- Build and maintain valuable, sustainable vendor partnerships.
- Cost Optimization:
- Apply “Should Cost Model” principles for effective negotiations.
- Achieve significant cost savings and prevent cost increases.
- Data-Driven Insights:
- Leverage strong data management skills to implement impactful dashboards for decision-making.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Extensive sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong negotiation skills, with expertise in applying “Should Cost Model” principles.
- Proven ability in data management and the creation of actionable dashboards.
- A track record of developing sourcing strategies with measurable financial impact.
